This fall’s second Artist-in-Residence program has a chamber music theme. Enjoy a first-rate program featuring internationally acclaimed musicians in collaboration with students from Lilla Akademien.

Out of darkness and chaos, a new world emerges. In Darius Milhaud’s colorful and rhythmically pulsating La création du monde, jazz, classical music, and mythological motifs come together in a musical creation story spanning from the world’s very first moment, soaring on mighty wings through history, all the way to the present day. From France, we fly on to Finland, where five musicians come together in an intense musical dialogue in Olli Mustonen’s piano quintet. With rhythmic energy, stark contrasts, and lyrical soundscapes, the piano and strings unite in a work where the traditional meets the new.
