Introducing the theme of Wings, this season’s opening concert looks forwards and outwards. Young musicians from Lilla Akademien and O/Modernt’s New Generation scheme perform with Lilla Akademien alumni, returning to share their experiences on the global stage. Featured artists include: trumpeter Ellinor Bengtson, Swedish Radio P2’s Classical Artist of the Year 2025/26; percussionist Christoffer Breman, winner of this year’s Soloist Prize; and pianist Edward Ahlbeck Glader, Sweden’s representative at this year’s Eurovision Young Musicians. With Sibelius’s magnificent Finlandia as its centrepiece, the programme includes Swedish folk music and works by Grieg, Britten, Scarlatti and Fauré, brought together in a celebration of growth, development and the courage to take flight. The concert also marks the next step in the Queen Silvia Concert Hall’s development as an international centre for music and education.
